Run Away With Me

One thing that can make or break a little bathroom is the bathmat/rug situation. Bath mats are not something I like…I can’t really explain why but the way I feel about them is similar to the way I feel about washcloths. They are however a very necessary piece in a bathroom so I had to find an alternative…

The best thing I have been able to come up with is a bathmat runner. Sometimes these are harder to come by so I have actually used indoor/outdoor rugs. TJ Maxx has amazing options during the summer months when people are shopping for their patios and sunrooms.

When we moved in I was working with what we had in reserves because buying things for the bathroom wasn’t a top priority. We were working with two completely different styles, textures, colors of purple mats. cute isn’t it??

yeah we didn’t think so either. (I know I need to get the wrinkles out of the shower curtain…can you blame a girl for trying to “steam” them out? …i’m on it) We finally stumbled on this bathmat runner that was the perfect color and length for our newly madeover bathroom.

Look how much cleaner it looks! Even from down the hall we are looking much more put together.

Here is another version of one I have. It’s not being used in this spot but I set it up here to show you the idea of something with more color. I think these add great symmetry to a bathroom and are completely practical!

Does anyone else use bathmat runners? Do you love them as much as I do?
